As luck would have it I did not find a room immediately, but have taken sanctuary in the Bronx with a friend until October first. My room is huge with its own private office and I love it, I just can’t have my dog, which is killing me and don’t truly love the neighborhood. It’s a 30 min ride to the fashion institute at 28th and 7th, through Harlem. The city is already changing me in probably the only way it will, its making me walk faster. Buying supplies and books for school is like burning money, there is a tremendous undertaking financially. I am nearly out of everything I had after 2 weeks. Today I made an attempt to venture out of what I know thus far and visit the leica gallery. Quick subway trip, couple blocks walk in 95 degree heat to find out its closed until Sept 22. Truly sad. So I walked around SoHo and visited a few places on spring st. Burton flagship store, dc shoes store, and things if the like. I’m still a little shaky, but getting used to it quickly. This weekend I will be away in Boston for two days of shooting, I was asked to sign a non disclosure form before our initial conferance call. A series of new fashion projects are in the works as a collaboration between James Pickett Photography and make up artist Genn Shaughnessy of Dark Shadows Media. Ideas are flying like fireworks on independance day and images will come together like finely crafted antiques.  This business is not forgiving, but instead of giving up i am downshifting and kicking the throttle to the floor. Watch out for insane new images in the next few months due to an amazing team of people grouping together and kicking mediocrity out the door and into the gutter where it belongs.
